Jesse was raised on a small farm in the Fundy hills of New Brunswick, this early upbringing surrounded by gardens, tractors, the wilds of their “back forty” was the foundation to building one of Atlantic Canada’s most well-known Chefs, culinary insider and a leader in the local food movement on the east coast.

With a work hard / play hard mentality, Jesse is known as one of the few Chefs in Canada that not only cooks food.. but hunts, forages, cultivates, and raises it. He is often seen cooking alongside many of Canada’s top culinary talents at various events across Canada and is known through various tv appearances and other types of media as proud East coaster and one of the most fun to cook with.

He is the Chef and Co-owner of Saint John Alehouse (# 38 of Top 50 2013, Atlantic restaurant of the year 2014, “Where to eat in Canada” 2013-16), Smoking Pig BBQ (“Top 10 authentic BBQ spots” Sharp magazine, “10 Tastiest BBQ restaurants across Canada” Food Network Canada), Toro Taco, Barred Rock Fried Chicken, & McGills.

Jesse currently lives outside the city of Saint John New Brunswick on a small farm with his wife and 3 kids,where they grow vegetables and herbs for his restaurants.
