--- WHAT'S HOT IN SAINT JOHN
Shall we dwell on the weather? People in Saint John can't
help but do that, especially in summer during lunch time when
the fog is still hanging over the harbour, infiltrating the
Market Square Boardwalk to the point where the frequent "phunk!"
sound of beach volleyball players being smacked in the head
by the ball echoes around this hot bed of the Port City patio
scene.
The temperature in Saint John is affected by its proximity to the sea, causing average highs of 19.0° C in June, and only 22.0° C in July & August, making it 3 or 4 degrees colder than Moncton or Fredericton. It's the wettest too, with 10 cm each of these summer months and an extra cm in an otherwise pleasant September.
And fog? Hell yeah! Not surprisingly, Saint John
has the most fog days per year, on average, of any New Brunswick
location, weighing in at a whopping 106. Before you start
reaching for your Zoloft, though, note that St. John's, Newfoundland,
sports an mpressive/depressive 206 - well over half of the
year! Fog Devils makes even more sense now.
