Canada Day/Week Celebrations
Canadian Seventy-Two Hour Jam
Canada Day in our community always represents the true ushering in of the summer season, and we are happy to welcome it with open arms! As a part of our 145 hours of events, our love of live music shines with a 72-hr Jam! We will have performers on the Boardwalk for 72 hours, throughout the premier weekend of Canada Day Celebrations! We have confirmed licensing to operate on a 24-hr basis, with a 4-hr cleanup and changeover period from 3am - 7am. From DJs on a 15 foot scaffolding, full rock bands, to a 25-piece steelband, we are celebrating our roots of music in style! Performances will include showcases to feature the upcoming Canadian Folk Music Awards being hosted in Saint John in November 2012!
June 29th Seventy-Two Hour Jam Kick-off
Our seventy-two hour jam kicks off Friday, providing the opportunity to start the long weekend off bright and early! The Friday acts as a teaser show to the entire weekend of music on the Boardwalk, featuring a taste of what’s to come to celebrate being Canadian in all its musical glory! We start with the Fusion Party with a Purpose at 6pm!
Friday acts include:
The Names and Faces
Little You Little Me
Migrant Workers
Canada Day Countdown All Day
This annual event has become a much-anticipated event in the region!
When the clock strikes midnight on June 30th, over 10,000 are ready to ring in
Canada’s birthday as a part of our celebration of Canadian musicians from across the country.
We are proud to announce 2012 performers:
Mother Mother
Hawksley Workman
Three Sheet featuring Atlantic Cirque
Tim Chaisson
Christina Martin
Naked Baron
Reagans Rayguns
Young River Band
and featuring an after party with TupperWare Remix & Live DJs throughout the night!
The entertainment usually winds down at last call; however, this year, we are pleased to announce that as a part of our 72hr Jam, we will keep the music rocking all day and night long!
Canada Day July 1st
Canada Day always welcomes a whole host of entertainment on the Boardwalk Stage. Rounding out the entertainment, leading up to the close of our 72-hr Jam with a Grand Fireworks Finale - and an encore from our performers to give a larger than life send off to another Canada Day!
